Parenting
John believes that parenting is the hardest job
any of us will ever do. He has run parenting classes
twice per year since 1993 and believes that a community approach
to child-rearing is best, reminiscent of his own childhood
in a multi-generational and multi-family setting: his Italian
grandmother lived with his family and the entire block of parents
looked out for all of the children. He also offers parent coaching
in private sessions.
John can provide services to parents in several ways:
- Individual coaching sessions that work
with the unique culture of each family and develop family
rituals and parenting techniques that lead to growth and
harmony for all.
- Parenting classes (see sample
offering) that run for eight weeks
(one 90-minute session per week) and often use a text
as a curricular guide.
- Parent presentations for schools, parent organizations,
book clubs, or places of worship. See sample
event.
- Parent training through the Leadership Program.
