Life Skills — Teachers
John was a classroom teacher for 15 years
and knows well the challenges and joys of working with students.
As a school psychologist who evaluates students for learning issues, his evaluation reports are well-received
by teachers because they contain recommendations that are “teacher-friendly” and
in fact possible to accomplish. This is largely because
he has spent so much time in the classroom and knows what works.
John’s training in school psychology,
learning theory and brain-based instructional techniques
provides a unique mix of theory and practice for teacher
development workshops. Recent teacher trainings have included
the following:
- Non-Verbal Learning Issues
- Developing Emotional Intelligence in Young Children
- Differentiated Instruction
Using Multiple Intelligences
- ADHD in the Classroom
- Learning How to Kiss
a Frog: The Challenges of Middle
School Students
- The Developmental Tasks of Adolescence
- Schools
as Families
- Making Sense of Educational Testing
- Schools
and Medication
- Non-Violent Communication
